Supreme Court of India on Banning tainted politicians from contesting elections

The Supreme Court of India has observed that it cannot stop tainted politicians from contesting elections.It is the role of parliament to enact such a law.Division of power is a basic structure of the Constitution.The Supreme Court being a protector of the constitution is duty bound to protect its basic structure.
